In dit  laatste interview met een ex-deelnemer Nederlands bekendste en succesvolste actieve sprinter: Kenny van Hummel. Kenny rijdt al vanaf 2006 voor Skil Shimano en vanaf 2012 gaat hij voor Vacansoleil koersen. In 2009 was hij tijdens de Tour de France de nationale held. Verder heeft hij onder andere een etappe gewonnen in de Ronde van België en in de Ronde van Turkije.

Kenny begon al vroeg met wedstrijden. “Toen ik zeven was ben ik begonnen met rijden van toertochtjes en toen ik acht jaar was begon ik met mijn eerste wedstrijdjes.” In Assen was hij in de jeugd altijd aanwezig: “Ik heb bijna ieder jaar vanaf de jeugd deelgenomen in Assen en ik reed toen voor RTV De Adelaar in Apeldoorn maar wanneer het eerste jaar was dat ik meedeed weet ik even niet meer.”

In this final interview with a former participant, a local boy because Martijn Keizer is from Muntendam. This 23 year old rider was part of the Rabobank Continental Team and turned pro in 2011 with Vacansoleil. His best results are a stage win and the overall classification in the Tour du Haut-Anjou in 2007, the national title Time Trial in 2010 in the U23 category and this year his first pro win in the  Circuit de L’Aulne.

Even though Martijn is only 23 years old he spent a lot of years on the bike already. He started in 1996 in category I. When he just started riding his bike he already made his debut in the Jeugdtour. His club was and still is The Stormvogels Veendam.

In this interview with a former participant not someone who had great success on the road but a track cyclist.

Robert Slippens is not riding professionally anymore but the man from Opmeer did win two silver medals on the World Championships. In 2004 he was second on the scratch and in 2005 he won the madison with Danny Stam. He ended his career in 2008 and started in 1982.
